Door at Hildsheim Cathedral

This door from 11th century Germany depicts parallel scenes from Old and New Testament which portray different manifestations of themes; for example the fourth panels down portray (left) the judgement of Adam and Eve and (right) the judgement of Jesus by Pilate.

I think this door is a magnificent piece of medieval artwork, clearly lovingly and carefully portrayed with every detail attended to. Notice how in the Adam and Eve expulsion panel (fourth down, left), God accuses Adam, who points backwards at Eve, who points downwards at the snake, who is fiery and unrepentant.
